Climate protection also requires rethinking traffic: The thought is to move away from individual, fuel-burning methods of transportation to mass transportation which is fuelled by renewable energy.

This means above all rail traffic. If structural designs include fundamentally regrown construction materials, this can provide an additional contribution to climate protection. This can happen by using wooden sleepers.

Wooden sleepers’ CO₂ storage property is only one of many further ecological advantages. They also provide outstanding properties in the areas of engineering and economics.

We, the European research society for wooden sleepers e.V. are working to continuously improve materials and services around wooden sleepers and to communicate this to takers and the public.
